Emilie Kiser Reveals the ‘Final Promise’ She Made to Son Trigg, 3, ‘Right Before’ He Died After Drowning Incident

In a deeply emotional interview, content creator Emilie Kiser discussed the far-reaching impact of her son Trigg’s tragic death during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast, “On Purpose,” on 17 June. This marked her first public comments since the incident in April 2025, when three-year-old Trigg drowned in the family’s pool while Emilie was away from home.

Reflecting on her grief journey, Emilie shared the profound promise she made to Trigg just before his life ended. Following the drowning incident, Trigg was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away six days later. Emilie’s husband, Brady Kiser, had been supervising their other son, Teddy—who is now just one year old—when Trigg fell into the pool.

In her heartfelt remarks, Emilie revealed, “I made a promise to Trigg, right before we lost him, that I was going to take care of Teddy.” She explained that, during the initial aftermath of their loss, she found it incredibly difficult to cope with her grief. However, she remained determined to uphold this promise, stating, “I’m going to fulfil it, and I’m gonna give Teddy the best life I possibly can.”

Emilie also addressed the painful reality that Teddy would never have the same parents he had before Trigg’s tragic death. “It’s true, he’s never going to have the same parents Trigg had. We are fundamentally changed by this, but I will be even better,” she responded, framing this as a source of motivation. Emilie expressed her commitment to provide a loving and supportive environment for Teddy, emphasising her desire to be the best mother possible during such challenging times.

The circumstances surrounding Trigg’s drowning were the subject of considerable scrutiny. Initially, Brady reported that he had lost sight of the boys for three to five minutes before discovering Trigg submerged in the pool. However, an investigation by the Chandler Police Department revealed that video evidence indicated Trigg had been unsupervised for over nine minutes, spending around seven minutes in the water before being found.

Following an extensive investigation, the police recommended that Brady Kiser be prosecuted for a Class 4 felony charge related to child abuse. Nevertheless, in July 2025, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that no charges would be brought against him.

After Trigg’s passing, Emilie took a break from social media, returning to her online presence in September 2025. She shared a video documenting a “house reset,” signaling her return to a more typical routine of content creation. Ahead of the one-year anniversary of Trigg’s death, Emilie announced another short hiatus from social media, which she described as necessary for her emotional wellbeing. “I have missed you and missed posting on here,” she wrote in a heartfelt message, expressing gratitude for the time that helped her navigate her grief shared with family.

Emilie has also been proactive in discussing the preventability of such tragedies. Leading up to the one-year mark of the incident, she shared videos reflecting on her loss, offering insights into the need for water safety awareness. “This is a topic that I will continue to talk about when I feel comfortable, because it is so extremely hard to talk about,” she explained in a TikTok. She stressed the importance of acknowledging the preventable nature of her son’s death, stating, “As a parent, it is your job to protect your child.”
