Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, have spoken candidly about their recent challenges, particularly the significant role their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, played during their time in prison. Appearing on the ‘Hang Out with Sean Hannity’ podcast on June 16, the couple expressed deep gratitude for Savannah’s unwavering support and financial sacrifices over the last few years.

During the interview, Todd, aged 57, referred to Savannah as a “rock star” for her resilience and commitment to the family. He recounted how their daughter, now 29, took charge of caring for her younger brother, Grayson, who is 20, and her 13-year-old niece, Chloe, while he and Julie were incarcerated. Julie, aged 53, shared how Savannah guided them through these tough times, ensuring that the children continued with their studies, sports activities, and even family vacations, despite their parents’ absence.

Savannah’s dedication extended beyond everyday care. The Chrisley family had entrusted her with power of attorney, enabling her to manage their affairs while they were serving their sentences. However, as Todd revealed, Savannah never tapped into their financial resources to provide for her siblings. “She never used one dollar of our money to take care of her siblings,” Todd disclosed. “We didn’t realise that until it was all turned back over to us that she had never done anything like that. She had taken care of it herself.”
This revelation highlights an extraordinary level of maturity and responsibility on Savannah’s part, especially since she was relatively young at the time. Todd expressed pride and admiration for his daughter’s character, calling her one of the “kindest, most decent, honourable human beings in the world.” He noted that while many might comment on her physical beauty, what truly stands out is her inner beauty and strength of character.
The Chrisleys, well-known for their USA Network reality show *Chrisley Knows Best*, faced serious legal troubles in 2022, having been convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in a federal court in Georgia. In addition, Julie was found guilty of wire fraud. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while Julie received a seven-year sentence. Both began serving their sentences on January 17, 2023, and their legal situation attracted considerable media attention.
Their incarceration lasted for over two years, with both parents eventually being granted full pardons by President Donald Trump, leading to their release on May 28, 2025. Reflecting on their experience in a later interview with Lara Trump for *My View with Lara Trump*, Todd credited Savannah’s tireless efforts for being instrumental in securing their pardons.
While the Chrisleys grappled with the consequences of their actions, the family’s dynamic during this tumultuous time was notably strengthened by Savannah’s commitment to her siblings. The podcast interview revealed not only the depth of Savannah’s responsibility but also a glimpse into the family’s resilience amid adversity.
As they move forward, the Chrisleys have expressed hope for rebuilding their lives and regaining stability. Despite the challenges ahead, Todd and Julie are committed to supporting their daughter and family and expressing their gratitude for the sacrifices that Savannah made in their absence.
The ongoing journey of the Chrisley family provides an intriguing insight into how familial bonds can endure and even strengthen in times of crisis, illustrating that love and support can often prevail in the face of difficulties.
