Adopted by a White Jewish family as an infant, Thiele’s childhood was filled with encouragement from his parents, who fostered his artistic expression from an early age. Recollecting his formative years, he reflected on how his parents appeared to cherish his performances. “Even when I was dancing alone on tables and other people would beg me to get down, my parents were filming me and telling me to ‘Hit a sharper move’,” Thiele recalled, highlighting the supportive environment that shaped his creative spirit.

When he came out at the age of 16, their reaction was refreshingly laid-back. “It was not a big conversation at all. They moved past it and just accepted it, which is so amazing and so rare,” he noted, affirming their unwavering support. Thiele jokingly admits that he must use the term “semi” to avoid the implication that all aspects are strictly true. “These stories are so insane that you wouldn’t actually believe that they were real, even though most of them are. So I think my producers legally want me to say semi,” he explained, indicating the fine line between reality and creative storytelling.
Although a specific release date for ‘Off Color’ has not yet been announced, Thiele remains hopeful and is eagerly anticipating the moment his work will debut. He expressed mixed feelings about sharing his story, acknowledging the emotional challenges that come with it. “It’s truly a therapy session every time I’m writing it, but in a good way,” he stated.
