Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott recently came together to celebrate a significant milestone in their daughter’s life. The former couple were spotted at their daughter Stella’s high school graduation, held on June 11, where both parents proudly watched as their eldest child, aged 18, received her diploma. Despite their previous personal challenges, the duo appeared amicable, posing for photographs together with Stella under the Californian sun.

Stella is not the only child of Spelling and McDermott; they share four other children, including Liam Aaron, aged 19, Hattie Margaret, 14, Finn Davey, 13, and Beau Dean, 9. Their decision to reunite for this momentous occasion underscores their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a supportive family dynamic, despite having finalised their divorce in November 2025.

The pair’s journey together began in 2006 when they married, but their relationship faced significant turbulence over the years. In June 2023, McDermott took to social media to announce their separation after almost two decades of marriage. Following this announcement, Spelling filed for divorce in March 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences” and marking June 17, 2023, as the date they separated.
In her reflections on their relationship, Spelling has emphasised that their familial bonds remain intact. In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, she stated, “It’s just a different version of a family now and we’ll always be family.” This sentiment illustrates her desire to provide a nurturing environment for their children, even amidst the changes in her relationship with McDermott.
Following her divorce, Spelling expressed no immediate interest in re-entering the dating scene. “I am in my power era and I’m rebuilding and reinventing,” she remarked during the iHeartRadio Music Awards. With a focus on personal development and entrepreneurship, she is excited about embarking on this new chapter of her life. “I’ve got so many businesses that I want to build and my empire to create. Romance can come later,” she added, emphasising her commitment to her career and family over her personal life.
The duo’s cooperative co-parenting approach appears to be working well for their children, as Spelling described themselves as “the lucky ones” in terms of having supportive, amicable ex-partners. Her priorities lie firmly with her children’s wellbeing, demonstrating her dedication to fostering a positive environment for them.
Further highlighting her role as a devoted mother, Spelling recently dealt with a frightening incident when she and four of her children were involved in a car accident in Temecula, California, last April. Following the event, she took to Instagram to express her gratitude to first responders for their quick action and referred to her family as fortunate to have emerged from the situation relatively unscathed. “We are so grateful and so lucky, because it could have been so much worse,” she wrote, acknowledging the presence of “guardian angels” during the incident.
As Spelling and McDermott navigate their new normal, their focus remains on providing stability and love for their children. Their ability to unite for significant family moments like Stella’s graduation reflects not only their commitment to parenting but also a growing understanding of the importance of family, no matter the circumstances. As they continue along their respective paths, both parents are determined to be there for their children, ensuring a supportive environment throughout their transitions.
