Phil Mickelson’s membership at The Farms Golf Club, situated near San Diego, has been reportedly terminated following allegations made against the six-time major champion. The golfer, aged 55, was accused of engaging in “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact” with a female staff member at the club, according to a report by Golf Digest.

The incident is said to have occurred during the spring of this year. Upon rejecting Mickelson’s overture, the employee promptly notified her supervisors, who are reported to have responded seriously to the allegation. Subsequently, while Mickelson was in the midst of a round of golf, he was approached and instructed to leave the premises.

Mickelson’s representation has yet to respond to requests for comments, although a spokesman previously indicated to Golf Digest that the situation had been clarified as a “misunderstanding.” Meanwhile, inquiries have also been made to The Farms Golf Club regarding the dismissal of Mickelson’s membership.
The golfer’s recent withdrawal from professional play has been attributed to a personal health issue affecting his family, which prompted him to pull out of the Masters Tournament. This announcement was made via social media on April 2, where he emphasised his respect for Augusta National Golf Club, calling it a truly significant week for golfers.
In his statement, Mickelson expressed regret over missing the Masters, where he is a three-time champion. “Unfortunately, I will not play in the Masters Tournament next week and will be out for an extended period of time as my family continues to navigate a personal health matter,” he shared with his followers.
Earlier, in February, the golf star disclosed plans to withdraw from the initial two events of the 2026 LIV Golf League season, also citing family health concerns as his reason for not participating. He noted, “I will not be able to participate in the first two LIV Events as Amy and I need to be present for a family health matter,” referring to his wife, Amy, with whom he has shared nearly three decades of marriage and raised three children.
The latest developments surrounding Mickelson have sparked considerable discussion within the golfing community, particularly given his status as a prominent figure in the sport. The golfer is known for his remarkable achievements on the course, and these incidents have added a layer of controversy to his legacy.
As more details emerge about the allegations and Mickelson’s family circumstances, the sporting world remains attentive to his next moves. With high-profile tournaments on the horizon, many are left contemplating how these personal challenges will affect his career and public perception moving forward.
In the meantime, Mickelson’s focus appears to be largely directed towards his family, underlining a shift that many in the sport can empathise with. As he steps away from professional commitments, there is a palpable hope within his circle and fanbase for the resolution of the personal health matter that has necessitated such drastic measures.
The golfer’s future in the sport and any potential return remains uncertain as he prioritises his family’s needs in what has proven to be a trying time.
