Jess Wright, well-known for her role in the reality show *The Only Way Is Essex*, recently shared a worrying incident involving her young son, Presley, during a birthday celebration. The four-year-old was airlifted to a trauma unit following an accident on a bouncy castle that left him injured.
The incident occurred on Saturday at a party attended by friends and family. Wright detailed the event in an Instagram post, describing how her son was unexpectedly thrown from the bouncy structure. Reports indicate that Presley fell approximately three metres onto a hard wooden floor, resulting in immediate panic among the attendees.
Wright recounted the moment, saying, “We had a really scary thing happen at a bday party on Saturday & he’s been so clingy (even more than usual) ever since. Presley got catapulted off the top of a bouncy castle high in the air & landed face down on a hard wooden floor from about 3 metres high. A noise that silenced the whole party and will haunt me I’m sure.”
In the aftermath of the fall, Wright noticed that her son was struggling to breathe and briefly lost consciousness. In a state of distress, she sought immediate medical assistance. The family was airlifted to a specialised trauma unit in London, where they received prompt care.
Fortunately, once they arrived at the hospital, Presley’s condition improved. Wright noted that the initial shock had somewhat subsided, and pain relief medication took effect. “Miraculously, when we arrived the shock had subsided slightly & pain killers kicked in. A few hours later we were released with no injuries other than a few bruises, a very sore little boy & traumatized parents,” she shared.
Jess Wright has become accustomed to being concerned for her son’s health, especially following Presley’s diagnosis of a bicuspid aortic valve, a congenital heart condition he received when he was just two years old. Reflecting on this, she expressed her substantial relief at the outcome, calling it merely a “freak accident” that was unavoidable.
In her post, Wright acknowledged the need for caution and discussed the importance of safety at such events: “It was a simple accident that could have happened at any point, it’s one of those things. I will say I’ll be more careful in future if the bouncy castle is on a wooden floor compared to mats or maybe grass.”
The reality TV star also took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards the parents at the party and the medical staff who provided assistance. In a moving moment, she shared an image of Presley lying on a gurney, exhibiting that he had a pacifier in his mouth.
“Scariest day of my life,” Wright wrote alongside the photo. “I have thanked God every day that he’s okay because it was truly horrendous seeing him in the state he was here and just before.”
Soon after their ordeal, Wright posted another image showing Presley recovering in his hospital bed, now more cheerful and engaged. In this picture, her son was seen playing with game cards, showcasing a significant improvement in his condition. “Five hours later & we were playing games grateful for his recovery!” she exclaimed in her caption, reflecting a sense of relief.
