Chappell Roan, the award-winning pop sensation, has recently been appointed as the new global ambassador for MAC Cosmetics’ acclaimed Viva Glam campaign. The 28-year-old artist, recognised for her powerful music, joined the iconic brand in December 2025 and has now launched a limited-edition Viva Glam collection that promises to make a significant impact.

The new line from Roan showcases three unique lip products, each encased in collectable packaging. The MACximal Silky Matte VIVA GLAM Lipstick in “UnNatural Red Head,” inspired by her vibrant hair, is complemented by two other shades: the Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in “Roan Of Arc” and the Lipglass Air Non-Sticky Gloss in “Damnsel,” both of which reflect a rich plum palette. Remarkably, all proceeds from these products will be directed to Viva Glam charities, which focus on advancing equality across gender, sexual orientation, race, and environmental issues.
Viva Glam has been a transformative initiative since its inception in 1994, aiming to leverage the power of makeup for meaningful change. Roan expressed her enthusiasm in a release, stating, “VIVA GLAM has always been about more than makeup. It’s about showing up for communities and making real change.” She revealed that knowing her collection contributes to charitable causes makes this collaboration especially important to her.
As part of her role, Roan shared insights into what makes her feel glamorous and empowered. She indicated that her most glamorous moments occur while walking the red carpet. Conversely, she noted that writing a great song instills a profound sense of empowerment in her, as does witnessing others perform acts of kindness in an often bleak world.
The launch of Roan’s collection aligns with Pride Month, which she considers serendipitous. It also serves as an opportunity to highlight the need for critical resources and advocacy for LGBTQ+ communities across the United States, particularly in areas where support is often lacking.
Reflecting on her journey, Roan recounted her childhood experiences in Missouri, where access to MAC products was limited. “I was always hearing about MAC. I didn’t have a MAC in my hometown mall,” she shared, explaining how she associated the brand with the starlet image she aspired to. Now, as a successful artist, MAC is integral to both her promotional and everyday looks. When off-duty, Roan prefers a more natural routine, typically opting for concealer, brow gel, and specific MAC lip products to maintain a fresh appearance.
Makeup artistry plays a crucial role in Roan’s self-expression; she noted that wearing makeup unlocks a version of herself that exudes confidence and allure. For the announcement of her partnership with MAC, renowned makeup artist Andrew Dahling crafted a dramatic look inspired by the elegance of historical eras. Dahling collaborated closely with Roan to finalise her aesthetic, which included a striking lip colour from her new collection.
Over the course of the Viva Glam campaign, MAC has raised substantial funds for charitable causes, with over $545 million distributed to help more than 60 million people across 92 countries. Roan now joins a prestigious line of past collaborators, including artists like Fergie, Sia, and Kim Petras.
To honour Roan’s partnership, MAC VIVA GLAM is donating $300,000 to her own nonprofit initiative, the Midwest Princess Project, and its partner organisations. Nicola Formichetti, MAC’s Global Creative Director, praised Roan’s qualities, stating, “Chappell embodies everything MAC stands for. She is fearless and expressive, a perfect artist to lead this next chapter.”
With her impressive talent and dedication to philanthropy, Chappell Roan is poised to make waves not only in the beauty world but also in the fight for equality. As her Viva Glam collection makes its debut, the combination of glamour and social impact stands as a testament to the power of collaborative artistry.
