In a recent episode of the ‘Hey Jonas’ podcast, released on Sunday, June 7, Kevin Jonas shared a humorous anecdote regarding his experience as a wingman during his brother Nick Jonas’ first date with actress Priyanka Chopra. The revelation added a light-hearted twist to the couple’s romantic history, which began in 2018 when they first started dating before eventually tying the knot later that same year.

Kevin, speaking candidly, recounted that he took his role as a wingman very seriously, going so far as to admit, “I wingmanned so hard I threw up in the bathroom and rallied.” This amusing confession prompted laughter from his brothers, with Joe Jonas even playing a comically sad noise in reaction to Kevin’s mishap, to which Kevin quipped in response, encouraging praise instead, “No, no, no! Praise! Clap, clap, clap.” He refrained from going into detail about the circumstances surrounding his bout of nausea.

Nick, 33, chimed in, acknowledging the effort Kevin put into making the date a success, calling it a “pro move.” Celebrating the eight-year mark since their first date, Nick reflected on how crucial his older brother’s support had been that night. For Nick, the date was filled with anticipation and a desire to keep things casual, as he explained, “I was like, ‘But let’s bring some friends so there’s less pressure.’”
The evening saw the couple, along with their friends, enjoying a performance of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the Hollywood Bowl. “She brought her best friend; I brought Kevin and another couple of our friends, Greg and Paris,” Nick recounted, describing it as a delightful group outing. The fun continued afterwards over drinks, during which Joe, who was away at the time, amusingly sent “shots of milk” to the group from wherever he was, adding a comedic layer to the night.
During the podcast, Nick continued to fondly recall the support Kevin provided, candidly sharing, “He was overly hyping me up, though. You know, someone bringing up baseball or something, Kevin would be like, ‘Oh, Nick could have gone pro. He could have been a pro baseball player.’” Nick appreciated this gesture, describing it as “the most Jersey thing ever” and insightfully noting how it showed that Kevin wanted the evening to go well.
Reflecting on Priyanka’s reaction to Kevin’s enthusiasm, Nick remarked that she seemed to notice the playful sibling rivalry, which ultimately helped set a positive tone for the evening. “She obviously was like, ‘Your brother’s really gassing you up.’ I was like, ‘He wants this to go well.’ And then it did. We French kissed that night,” he recounted with a hint of nostalgia.
The conversation later turned to special occasions in Nick and Priyanka’s relationship, with Nick listing their anniversary dates. He noted, “In July, it’s her birthday, the 18th. Then on the 19th is our engagement anniversary, eight years, which is almost two months after we had our first date.” He concluded by expressing disbelief that they would soon celebrate eight years of marriage, playful teasing interspersed with genuine affection for his wife.
Nick and Priyanka’s journey first sparked in 2016 when he reached out to her on social media, suggesting a date. Despite initially not dating, the pair maintained contact through “random texts.” Their relationship took a significant step forward in 2017 when they met face-to-face at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. The public’s interest in their romance grew as they were spotted together frequently, culminating in an announcement of their engagement on July 27, 2018.
The couple celebrated their wedding in a grand ceremony in India on December 1, 2018. Since then, they have embraced parenthood, welcoming their first child, daughter Malti, on January 15, 2022. Their relationship continues to capture the hearts of fans all over the world as they share their joyful experiences and milestones, marked by a playful camaraderie and brotherly support as shared by Kevin on the podcast.
