At 34, Weaving has had an exceptionally busy year, having already released three films in 2025 alone. The list includes the much-anticipated horror sequel *Ready or Not 2: Here I Come* and dark comedy *Over Your Dead Body*, but her role in *Carolina Caroline*, alongside actors Kyle Gallner and Kyra Sedgwick, marks a significant highlight. “I think I’m still processing it all,” she noted, describing her current phase as both thrilling and wonderful.

Despite the whirlwind of activity, Weaving did not find all aspects of her new character easy to master. Portraying a con artist in *Carolina Caroline*, she struggled with the complexities of her character’s quick-change scam technique. “I have no clue how it works. I tried so hard and then just had to give up. I couldn’t,” she remarked light-heartedly, adding, “I’m just not cut out for crime life.”
Her successful career, however, indicates she is well-suited for the film industry. Originating from Adelaide, Weaving began her acting journey as a teenager with the Australian series *Out of the Blue*. Reflecting on her experiences, she expressed her initial apprehension about making it in Hollywood. “The idea of L.A. seemed so big and scary and exciting. Just getting an audition was hard,” she recalled. Persistence and dedication paved the way, helping her establish a respected presence in film.
Weaving’s filmography has gradually built her reputation, with memorable roles in acclaimed productions such as *Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri*, and leading performances in horror hits like *The Babysitter* and the original *Ready or Not*. Co-star Kyle Gallner praised Weaving for her commitment and enthusiasm, stating, “She was just ready to jump in with both feet, and we were able to run and gun and have a good time.”
Despite her growing success, Weaving continues to grapple with feelings of self-doubt, a phenomenon often described as impostor syndrome. “It’s not as bad as it once was,” she admitted. “Years of not knowing when you’re going to work again makes it hard.” However, she has learned to trust the process more as her career has progressed.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Weaving is embracing the role of a new mother. She described motherhood as “weird,” but in a positively transformative manner. “You just discover something new every day, and you find out so much about yourself,” she said. “My heart is now on the outside of my body.” These changing dynamics have shifted her focus and priorities.
Looking ahead, Weaving is keen on collaborating with her husband, who wrote and directed the film *Borderline*, in which she starred. Their chemistry and shared experiences in filmmaking could provide a rewarding avenue for future projects. “I’d love to do another project with him,” she remarked, indicating her desire to explore both professional and parenting roles together.
For now, Weaving is taking a measured approach to her career, suggesting that her current priority is balancing motherhood with work. “I’m kind of just taking it one day at a time,” she explained. “If there’s something I can’t say no to, we’ll figure it out. And if not, I’ve got a pretty good role of being a mum.”
*Carolina Caroline* is currently screening in cinemas across the nation, offering audiences a glimpse into Weaving’s latest endeavour and showcasing her evolution as an actress and a new parent.
