Being a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, Lopez, now 56, shared her thoughts with Extratv, saying, “You know that you’re gonna be on-screen… You gotta be prepared… in the gym and eating right.” She went on to underline the significance of consistency in maintaining her health regime. “It’s about eating healthy and eating the right things and working out and being consistent. I say these things all the time,” Lopez stated, shedding light on her disciplined lifestyle.

Her co-star in the film, Brett Goldstein, who is 45, also expressed the pressure that comes with starring alongside someone as iconic as Lopez. He revealed his own anxieties about his physique for the film, joking, “Of course I f—ing did… I’m doing a scene with this one,” referring to Lopez’s impressive figure.
Despite her extensive experience in the industry, Lopez admitted that there were aspects of filming that could still induce nerves, particularly regarding intimate scenes. She shared her feelings about kissing Goldstein, saying, “I want to say that I was fine, but it’s always a thing. It’s like, ‘Okay, I have to kiss this person that I don’t know and I’m just getting to know you.’ You get a little nervous, that’s all.” Her honesty about the pressures of such scenes reflects the challenges even seasoned actors face.
Goldstein, who has gained recognition for his role in the hit series *Ted Lasso*, echoed Lopez’s sentiments regarding the challenges of filming with intense lighting and large cameras. He suggested that the best way to handle these nerves is to “just go for it” and approach the scenes without overthinking them.
In *Office Romance*, Lopez portrays Jackie Cruz, a successful CEO, who becomes romantically involved with her new employee, Daniel Blanchflower, played by Goldstein. The film’s narrative explores their secret love affair and their decision to prioritise their emotions over corporate rules, adding a thrilling dimension to the romantic comedy.
Interestingly, Goldstein revealed that the concept for *Office Romance* was crafted during a train journey while filming the third season of *Ted Lasso*. He and co-writer Joe Kelly concluded that Lopez would be the perfect star for their film. “We started asking ourselves who the best rom-com star is, and without hesitation, we both said JLo,” he recalled. His enthusiasm for writing with her in mind was evident, as he noted, “It’s easy to write a rom-com when you have JLo in mind. She’s the best at this stuff.”
The anticipation for *Office Romance* is building as it promises a blend of humour and clever storytelling, as well as a showcase of Lopez’s enduring star power in the genre of romantic comedy. With both lead actors committed to delivering memorable performances, audiences can look forward to this new offering from Netflix.
As the premiere date approaches, fans of Lopez and Goldstein alike are eager to see how their characters navigate the romantic complexities of their workplace, with a backdrop vibrated by the pressures and expectations of modern-day relationships. Viewers can catch *Office Romance* when it begins streaming this Friday, 5 June, exclusively on Netflix.
