The promotional cups, available in a series of nine designs, pay tribute to legendary players including Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, and more. Fans will also find a whimsical addition in the form of Grimace, described as a “certified legend.” This collaboration with the world of football not only highlights the game’s popularity but also connects McDonald’s with a passionate global audience.
Customers can choose from popular meal options, including the classic Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, both accompanied by a special limited edition gold Big Mac sauce for an added treat. Alternatively, breakfast enthusiasts can opt for either a sausage McMuffin with egg or a sausage biscuit with egg and hash browns to kick-start their day.

For Christian Pulisic, the inclusion of his image on a McDonald’s cup is particularly meaningful. The US Men’s National Team star recalled how visits to McDonald’s for a post-match meal during his youth were a cherished tradition. “Those memories were a core part of my childhood and an experience I still share with my teammates today,” he remarked. He described the opportunity to be featured on a collectible cup as a “full-circle moment,” reflecting on the significance of the upcoming World Cup.

In addition to the meals, younger fans will be delighted by the release of 23 Squishmallows plushies set to be available from 9 June. These cuddly companions come in various animal forms and colours, adorned with soccer-themed jerseys, including those of the official mascots from the three North American host nations.
This limited-time promotion follows a series of creative meal offerings from McDonald’s, which has previously launched products such as the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal and a collaboration with the Oscar-winning film “KPop Demon Hunters,” showcasing the brand’s commitment to dynamic marketing.
Pulisic, 27, has been actively promoting the excitement surrounding the World Cup, which is set to take place from 11 June to 19 July across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. In a recent interview, he expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament, stating, “I’m thrilled to have the World Cup in the U.S.; it’s just extra special. It definitely feels like a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing.”
The player, who has been part of the national team for nearly a decade, expressed pride in representing the United States on such a grand stage. “I’m really blessed to be part of this team; I feel very proud to wear that crest and represent our country. I can’t wait for the tournament to begin.”
The group stage of the World Cup will kick off on 11 June, with the US team set to play its first match against Paraguay on 13 June at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, drawing attention and excitement from fans across the country.
As the tournament approaches, McDonald’s appears well-positioned to engage fans through its special meals and collectibles, merging the delights of fast food with the thrill of global sporting events. With a blend of nostalgia, excitement and community spirit, McDonald’s is ready to celebrate football in style.
