Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Rejects Making Green Tea Ice Cream Again

Ree Drummond, the well-known Pioneer Woman, has shared a culinary mishap that has led her to swear off making a particular dish ever again. In the latest issue of The Pioneer Woman magazine, Drummond, 56, confessed to a failed attempt at creating green tea ice cream, which she described as resembling “green sludge” and went uneaten by all, as per a post on her website. The Food Network star emphatically declared, “Never again!” when recounting her experience with the failed dessert.
During a ladies’ investment club meeting in the past, Drummond tried her hand at making green tea ice cream, but things did not go as planned. Instead of using matcha or green tea powder, she opted to use green tea bags, grinding the tea in a food processor before incorporating it into the ice cream base. While the outcome wasn’t a total disaster, it certainly fell short of expectations. Drummond lamented that the final product looked more like “mossy green sludge,” a far cry from the desired treat.
Reflecting on the unsuccessful creation, Drummond shared that despite serving approximately 23 bowls of the green tea ice cream, not a single person indulged in the dessert. Since then, she has resigned herself to purchasing her green tea ice cream rather than attempting to make it herself. While green tea ice cream may not be her forte, Drummond seems to excel in other areas of dessert making, such as her recipe for vanilla bean ice cream, which she generously shared with fans in July 2024.
In addition to her dessert endeavors, Drummond has recently showcased more mouth-watering recipes on her blog, including Irish apple cake and strawberry Danishes. Not limited to her culinary escapades, she also offered a glimpse of her daughter Paige Drummond’s elegant wedding shower before her impending nuptials to David Andersen. Drummond, a social media favourite, shared that with the wedding just around the corner, the festivities left her feeling overwhelmed with love and romance, jokingly stating her need to hit the rowing machine to prep for the big day.
