At 36 years old, León has established himself as a significant name in the music industry, earning recognition through various collaborations and awards, including two Grammy wins. With MUDA, León aims to explore a wider range of musical styles while maintaining a strong connection to his cultural roots. He expressed the importance of authenticity in his work, stating, “With MUDA, we realised we had a desire to be more sincere. In the past, it was very difficult in my genre to change.”

One of the standout tracks from the album is “La Misma Cama,” the second single, which incorporated the rich sounds of New Orleans. León admitted that it was a challenging piece to perform but one that feels genuine to him. “I did this song because it’s the kind of music that I love,” he explained, voicing his nerves about how audiences would react to his creative shift. “But I always like to feel nervous when I release something. That’s how I know that this is still moving me.”
León’s artistic journey has also seen him break into the country music scene, collaborating with notable artists like Kacey Musgraves, Kane Brown, and Cody Johnson. His most recent partnership is with Jelly Roll, contributing to “Lighter,” part of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album. Looking ahead, León is set to make history in September as the first Latinx performer at the Las Vegas Sphere, a venue known for its groundbreaking design and immersive experiences.
Despite his rapid ascent in the music industry, León remains grounded, often reflecting on his upbringing in Hermosillo, Sonora. He takes pride in his roots and maintains close ties with friends and collaborators from his hometown. “I still travel with all my friends from my block,” he shared. “I’ve formed an Avengers band. I’m very proud of where I am.”
León has battled with insecurities throughout his career, but performing has helped him grow more comfortable in his skin. He fondly recalls a pivotal moment during a 2020 performance at La Feria Nacional de San Marcos, where he began embracing his true self by dancing freely and connecting with the audience. “I lost the fear of being ridiculed,” he reflected, stating that this moment marked a significant transformation in his artistry.
As soon as MUDA hit the shelves, León began working on yet another album, aiming to create a blend of sounds inspired by legends like George Strait, Joan Sebastian, Garth Brooks, and Marco Antonio Solís. “It’s going to be one of the biggest albums of my career,” he promised, emphasising his commitment to musical evolution.
In the meantime, as León continues to perform across various venues, he hopes to create an unforgettable experience for his fans. His goal is for audiences to leave his concerts with a sense of joy and a desire to continue celebrating. “I want to make them feel this sense of, ‘Where’s the after?'” he articulated. “My main goal is that people can forget what is happening in their lives and to live in the moment and party with me.”
Before every show, León has begun to express gratitude for the opportunity to perform, reinforcing his connection with his audience. “I’ve started talking to God before my shows and thanking him for giving me the stage,” he noted, expressing excitement about reconnecting with his fans in the United States.
With MUDA now available to listeners, Carín León’s journey into the music world continues as he evolves both personally and professionally, always willing to embrace the next chapter of his artistry. His determination to push boundaries while staying true to his roots makes him a dynamic figure in contemporary music, and his upcoming performances promise to captivate audiences across North America.
