A routine morning at Avalon Airport in Australia turned into a harrowing situation on Thursday, May 21, when a passenger’s laser hair removal device was mistaken for a potential bomb, sparking a security alert that disrupted operations. The incident unfolded at approximately 6 a.m. local time and led to flight delays as authorities conducted investigations.

The passenger, identified as Sam, was preparing to board a flight to Sydney when his luggage attracted the attention of airport security due to the presence of what was initially considered a suspicious item. Alongside the laser hair removal device, Sam’s luggage contained a cardboard cylinder containing hot chocolate powder, which further complicated the situation.
