At the recent Vulture’s Inaugural Reality Masterminds Celebration in New York, Madix offered some heartfelt advice to the islanders. “It sounds cliché, but be yourself,” she told PEOPLE. “Being yourself is what made the people who create the show fall in love with you, and that’s what’s going to make the audience fall for you too.” She emphasised the importance of authenticity, stating that showing vulnerability is crucial for success in the competitive environment of the villa.

The former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star, now 40, expressed her enthusiasm for the hosting opportunity, describing it as her “dream job.” She recalled conversations with friends about the idea of hosting such a show. “Honestly, being the host of ‘Love Island’ is something I think I would’ve talked about in my living room with my friends as a dream job I would love to have,” she reflected. Madix also noted the explosive success of the show, remarking, “I never expected it to take off in the way it did.”
Madix takes pride in being the host of what has become one of the top programmes in all of streaming, be it scripted or unscripted. “To be able to say that not only am I the host of my favourite show, but also the number-one show in streaming is something I’m very proud to be part of,” she remarked.
As the new season approaches, Madix is excited to meet the fresh faces of the islanders. She eagerly anticipates seeing how the new contestants interact within the group, saying, “I’m excited to see who they all are and what it’s going to be like when they’re all in the same room together.” The hosting role allows her to witness the unfolding dynamics firsthand, and she looks forward to experiencing the energy of the new cast.
Madix has also enjoyed her interactions with previous islanders, particularly those who have transitioned to ‘Love Island USA: Beyond the Villa.’ She recently encountered several former contestants during the Coachella festival, including season seven stars Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen. “It’s just so nice to see them out in the world succeeding and doing well,” she shared, expressing genuine happiness for their achievements after the show.
With this new season around the corner, Madix and fans alike are buzzing with anticipation. “I think people are always so curious about what happens after,” she said regarding the former contestants, adding, “I hope they’re all doing great.”
‘Love Island USA’ season eight is set to premiere on Tuesday, June 2, at 9 p.m. ET, with the picturesque backdrop of Fiji serving as the setting once again. As the show gears up for its return, Madix’s dedication to the series and her contestants promises to make this season an exciting chapter in the reality series’ legacy. Fans of the programme can expect an entertaining mix of love, drama, and personal journeys as the islanders navigate their summer romance on the show.
