‘Disruptive’ Passenger Banned from Airline After He Allegedly Bit Flight Attendant, Exhibited ‘Threatening Behavior’

Qantas Airways is facing scrutiny after an incident involving a disruptive passenger on a flight from Melbourne to Dallas, Texas. The flight, which occurred on Friday, May 15, had to be diverted to Tahiti due to the behaviour of a man who appeared to be intoxicated.

The trouble began when the passenger exited the aircraft’s bathroom and displayed erratic behaviour. Videos shared on social media depict the man stumbling as he attempted to fasten his belt, while also expressing agitation over a malfunctioning bathroom door. In a particularly alarming exchange, he reportedly slurred his words, demanding assistance while insisting he had difficulties with the door.

A flight attendant promptly intervened, attempting to de-escalate the situation by advising the man to moderate his language, given the presence of children onboard.
