Shannon Beador, star of the reality television series ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’, is in mourning following the death of her beloved golden retriever, Archie. The 62-year-old television personality took to Instagram on May 14 to share the news of her dog’s passing, which occurred on May 13. In her emotional post, Beador reflected on the deep bond she shared with Archie over the past decade.

In her tribute, Beador described Archie not only as a pet but as a cherished member of her family. “For the last 10 years, Archie wasn’t just my dog – he was my constant comfort, protector, best friend and truly the real ‘man’ in my life,” she wrote, encapsulating the integral role Archie played in her daily life. The Instagram post was accompanied by a touching photograph of Archie, smiling on the beach, with three dove emojis hovering above him.
The shared loss has left Beador and her daughters—Sophie, 24, and twins Stella and Adeline, 21—heartbroken. Shannon’s ex-husband David Beador also played a part in their family life, but it was Archie who brought unconditional love and joy to their household. Only a week before his death, Beador had announced Archie’s diagnosis of brain cancer, which prompted medical advice for radiation treatment. Tragically, he passed away shortly thereafter.
As she reminisced about their time together, Beador shared how Archie had been a steadfast companion through both joyful and challenging moments. “He was always by my side for every good time and every heartache … never judging me and always giving pure, loyal, and unconditional love,” she noted. Fans of ‘RHOC’ are well-acquainted with Archie’s gentle nature, as he made numerous appearances on the show, winning a BravoCon award for Best Animal Appearance in 2025.
In her heartfelt tribute, Beador also addressed Archie’s brother, Troy, who was adopted by the family in May 2025. Shannon revealed that Troy has been struggling with the loss, looking for his older brother around their home. “There is such a void in our household right now. Troy continues to look for his big brother, which is heartbreaking,” she admitted. Beador consoled herself with the thought that Archie is now free from pain, “swimming, running, and playing catch” in heaven.
Expressing her gratitude for Archie’s presence in their lives, Beador felt blessed to have shared over ten wonderful years with such an extraordinary companion. She shared her intention to post more memories of Archie in the future and thanked her supporters for their outpouring of love during this difficult time. “And thank you is not even an accurate phrase to express our gratitude for so many of you that have reached out with your love and support. Please give your animals a hug and kiss for Archie today,” Beador wrote, concluding her message with heartfelt sentiment.
Support from friends and fans flooded in, including kind words from her RHOC co-star Tamra Judge, who commented, “Sweet Archie is now running free in Heaven with all the tennis balls his heart desires.” Sophie, Beador’s eldest daughter, further honoured Archie by sharing a series of cherished photographs on Instagram, expressing the profound impact the dog had on their family. She wrote, “I feel so blessed that he was brought into my family, and his loss is immeasurable. I can’t wait to see him again one day. Until then, I hope he will spend every day playing at the park and eating in n out and lots of carrots.”
