Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, has responded to claims made about his congressional campaign, dismissing the allegations as largely unfounded and even mocking them. The remarks followed a detailed report from The New York Times outlining a chaotic atmosphere within his campaign, suggesting that he had been involved in questionable managerial practices.

In a recent appearance on CNN, Schlossberg addressed accusations that he had taken a nap on the inaugural day of his campaign and frequently disappeared from his staff. “Apparently, I took a nap in November and I exercise; those are kind of the main critiques of me,” he quipped. Schlossberg, who is competing in a crowded Democratic primary for New York’s 12th Congressional District, described much of the Times article as “not true” and suggested that such comments arise when one becomes the frontrunner.

The Times report included various anecdotes that painted a troubling picture of Schlossberg’s campaign management. Among these were claims that he allegedly halted plans to reach out to potential donors on the campaign’s first day in favour of taking a rest.
