Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has returned to his broadcasting platform on LindellTV following a significant health crisis. Giuliani, who served as mayor from 1994 to 2001, made his first public appearance on the show since being hospitalised for viral pneumonia earlier this month.

During the episode aired on 11 May, Giuliani, who is 81 years old, expressed relief at his recovery. “I feel 100 percent, but I’m probably not,” he remarked, acknowledging the severity of his recent condition. The former mayor revealed that he is in the process of making a full recovery from a bout of viral pneumonia, which had escalated to a life-threatening state due to pre-existing health issues connected to his time responding to the 9/11 attacks.

Giuliani’s spokesperson, Ted Goodman, had previously disclosed details about the seriousness of his illness, informing the public that a priest had performed last rites during his stay in hospital. Thankfully, by 6 May he was moved out of the intensive care unit, signalling signs of improvement.

In a subsequent update shared on social media, Giuliani’s attorney Joseph Cammarata commented on his client’s progress, stating, “He’s making great progress each and every day.” Cammarata also noted that Giuliani is buoyed by the support and prayers from his followers. “He believes in the power of prayer, and he feels the love that’s being projected towards him,” he added.

The health complications that led to Giuliani’s hospitalisation were exacerbated by existing conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and restrictive airway disease, both attributed to his long-term respiratory health issues following the tragic events of 11 September 2001.

Giuliani’s health had sparked concern among his peers, particularly within the Trump administration, highlighting the seriousness of his condition. “He isn’t in good shape,” a source close to the situation had revealed before Giuliani’s improvement became apparent.

His return to public life comes on the heels of a tumultuous period for the former mayor. In August 2025, he was involved in a car accident while assisting someone during a domestic violence incident. The accident left him with a fractured thoracic vertebra and multiple lacerations, forcing him to appear at a 9/11 memorial service in a wheelchair shortly thereafter, donning a full chest brace.

Despite the setbacks, Giuliani remains resilient and has shown determination in overcoming his challenges. Following the LindellTV broadcast, he continued to connect with his audience through a livestream episode of “America’s Mayor Live” on his YouTube channel.
