A hiker in Utah was successfully rescued on Wednesday after suffering a leg injury during a fall in Little Wild Horse Canyon. The incident occurred when local emergency dispatchers received a distress message around 2:23 p.m. from the woman, who reported that she was unable to bear any weight on her injured leg.

According to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office, the hiker expressed concerns over her knee, stating that it would “pop out of place and slip” whenever she attempted to put weight on it. This alarming injury prompted the swift response of both the sheriff’s office and the staff at Goblin Valley State Park, who mobilised to locate her along the challenging terrain of the canyon.
The rescue team was able to locate the woman approximately 1.5 miles from the trailhead. Upon reaching her, responders conducted a medical evaluation before preparing her for transport. They placed her on a gurney to safely carry her out of the difficult landscape. The nature of the terrain posed significant challenges, but the team was well-equipped to handle the situation.
