Christopher Knight, who gained fame for his role as Peter Brady in the iconic television series *The Brady Bunch*, has reflected on the deep sense of camaraderie that continues to bind him with his former co-stars. Speaking recently at *The Brady Bunch Experience* in North Hollywood, Knight shared his thoughts on the unforgettable series which aired from 1969 to 1974, leaving an indelible mark on audiences and television history.

In an exclusive interview with *PEOPLE*, Knight, now 68, expressed the familial ties he feels with his fellow cast members. He remarked, “Family. I mean, we were a big cast, that very much even today, acts like family. It was a special group of people.” This intimate sentiment echoes the series’ themes of love and togetherness, which have resonated with viewers for decades.

The original cast, including Knight alongside Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), and Susan Olsen (Cindy), built relationships that have endured well beyond their television careers. Knight emphasised that these friendships have only grown stronger over time, noting the remarkable bond they share nearly 60 years after the series began. “For the six of us who are still on this planet, we are lifelong friends,” he revealed. “I don’t know anyone, other than my own brothers and sisters, with whom I share such a deep connection.”
He further elaborated on their long-standing history, which began with the pilot episode filmed in 1968. “It’s going on 60 years now… It’s hard to believe it’s been that long ago,” he said, highlighting the shared history that binds the cast together.
Interestingly, Knight acknowledges not only the passage of time but also the emotional consistency of their connections. “But at the same time, the feeling is the same here. You know, and now it’s a real place, but it represents something good. And you can’t get enough of that,” he added, referencing the recreated Brady home experience that visitors can tour.
This restored ‘Brady’ house serves as a nostalgic backdrop for the memories of their time together, symbolising the warmth, humour, and valuable life lessons illustrated in the series. Knight believes these qualities lie at the core of the show’s lasting popularity. “There was something infectious about the show… the simplicity about it being about lessons of family. That invaded all of us and… to our betterment,” he explained.
The success of *The Brady Bunch* isn’t just found in its viewership numbers; Knight believes that the wholesome values portrayed in the series have inherently influenced both the audience and the cast. “So, this house is part of that,” he stated, indicating how their shared experiences have shaped their lives.
In a more personal revelation, Knight reflected on his relationship with co-star Eve Plumb, whom he dated briefly after the show concluded its run in 1974. “It was sweet, but it was not destined, and I’m glad,” he said, grateful for the friendship that has blossomed between them over the years despite their romance not being long-lasting. Today, Plumb is married to Ken Pace, while Knight has had four marriages, the most recent being to businesswoman Cara Kokenes in 2016.
Despite the ups and downs experienced in their personal lives, the bond formed during *The Brady Bunch* remains unbroken. Knight’s sentiments highlight a rare connection, which often eludes many actors who work together, emphasising how the shared experience of a beloved series can solidify real friendships.
As Knight reflects on the legacy of *The Brady Bunch*, it is evident that the impact of the show persists, not just in popular culture, but within the very hearts of those who played its beloved characters. The story of this iconic blended family continues to be a source of comfort and joy, a truth that Knight and his co-stars cherish and celebrate.
