Buttermore had established a significant online presence as a fitness influencer prior to her death. With hundreds of thousands of followers on both Instagram and YouTube, she was renowned for her advocacy of body positivity and intuitive eating. However, in May 2024, she made the difficult decision to step back from social media to focus on her mental health.

After a period of reflection and mourning, Nippard returned to social media on April 28 to pay tribute to his late fiancée. In an emotional post, he expressed his grief and shared the support he received from Buttermore’s family and close friends during this challenging time. He described their time together as a celebration of her life, where they shared fond memories and recollections.
In his heartfelt message, Nippard reflected on Buttermore’s warmth and kindness, stating, “When I think about Stephanie, I keep coming back to how loving and kind she was. She really made the world a better place.” This tribute captured the essence of Buttermore, who had touched many lives through her work and personal journey.
Nippard revealed that he first fell in love with Buttermore when he came across her PhD dissertation, which focused on a protein called RHAMM, known for its potential in detecting ovarian cancer. This insight into her academic achievements added another layer to her inspiring legacy.
The post further highlighted Buttermore’s commitment to helping others, particularly those grappling with issues surrounding food and body image. Nippard noted, “On her YouTube channel, she helped people feel less alone, especially when it comes to struggling with food and body image. Her journey helped so many people be more accepting of themselves.”
In memory of his beloved fiancée, Nippard shared that they had created a backyard garden in her honour, with purple being her favourite colour, symbolising their shared love and dedication. This gesture reinforces the emotional ties they shared, as well as Nippard’s desire to keep her spirit alive.
Nippard also expressed gratitude to Buttermore’s fans and the support they had shown during this difficult time. He acknowledged their messages and stories, which helped foster a sense of connection amongst those mourning her loss. “Stephanie’s mum loves hearing stories about the difference her daughter made. We talk almost every day and it’s been incredibly difficult but we’re making it together,” he added.
In conclusion, Nippard shared a poignant message to those who had followed Buttermore’s journey: “If you were a fan of Stephanie, then I’m a fan of you. I hope she made your life better in some way. She made my life amazing, and I’m so grateful for the time we had.” This heartfelt tribute speaks volumes about the impact Buttermore had on her community, and her legacy will undoubtedly resonate with many for years to come.
