See the “Street Fighter” Cast Side-by-Side with the Video Game Characters They Portray

A film adaptation of the beloved video game series “Street Fighter” is set to debut in cinemas on 16 October 2026. The upcoming action film promises to bring a roster of iconic characters from the franchise to life, following a storyline packed with tension and fierce competition.

At the helm of this cinematic venture are Andrew Koji and Noah Centineo, who have been cast as estranged fighters drawn back into battle for the World Warrior Tournament. Their characters will uncover a sinister conspiracy that adds depth to their fight, forcing them to confront both new threats and their tumultuous pasts.

Centineo will portray Ken Masters, a seasoned martial artist with a troubled past who has stepped away from the limelight, while Koji takes on the role of Ryu, a former warrior who has seemingly distanced himself from combat. The film’s trailer suggests a palpable tension between the two characters, who are reunited under duress. Centineo has expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating that he cherished playing the game as a child and joked about the various Easter eggs woven throughout the film for devoted fans.

Chun-Li, another fan-favourite character, will be played by Callina Liang. Cast in June 2025, Liang revealed her delight on social media, recalling how her younger self would be ecstatic to see her dreams of portraying such a groundbreaking character come to fruition. Chun-Li is notable for being the first playable female fighter in the “Street Fighter” series and thus holds significant importance in the franchise’s history.

David Dastmalchian, known for his versatile acting skills, will take on the role of M. Bison, one of the most infamous villains in the series. Dastmalchian embraced the character by immersing himself in the original arcade game, aiming to capture the essence of the original source material.

Also joining the ensemble cast is Jason Momoa, who will portray Blanka, a formidable fighter known for his electric abilities. Momoa, who is also serving as a producer on the project, shared insights into his childhood experiences with the game, stating that playing “Street Fighter” had always been a secret thrill despite his mother’s prohibition of video games in their household.

Adding to the excitement, professional wrestler Roman Reigns will bring to life the intimidating character Akuma, first introduced in “Super Street Fighter II Turbo”. In addition, another WWE star, Cody Rhodes, will feature as Guile, a dedicated Air Force soldier with a signature hairstyle and trademark attack. The casting of both wrestlers adds a unique layer of authenticity to the physicality expected from these characters.

Further enriching the roster are comedian Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, known for his over-the-top personality, and Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, a character practicing Indian martial arts. Additionally, the film will star Eric André as Don Sauvage, the amusingly eccentric announcer of the tournament, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who will take on the role of Balrog, inspired by real-life boxing legend Mike Tyson. Jackson’s playful approach to the role has already drawn online attention, as he often reminisces about his experience playing the game in his youth.
