The Cocoa Beach Police Department has confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that DeGray was swept out to sea while trying to save his 12-year-old son, Bryce.

In a particularly harrowing twist, a 34-year-old woman from Ohio, identified as Ebony Mount, also lost her life in this unfortunate event. Meagan revealed that Jason had an aversion to the beach but made the brave decision to enter the water when he saw his son struggling. “He was a great father,” she said of Jason, who was known for his dedication to his family and his hard work in the flooring industry, where he spent 25 years of his career.

Funeral arrangements for Jason DeGray will take place at the East Windsor Community Funeral Home in Connecticut, with a prayer service scheduled for 7 p.m. local time on 24 April. Following this, a Celebration of Life event will be held at the Gathering Ground Restaurant in Windsor Locks from 7:30-9:30 p.m., while the burial will be private.
