Kaley Cuoco Mourns Death of Her Beloved Dog Ruby, Calling Pet ‘the Sweetest Little Angel Snowball’

Kaley Cuoco, best known for her role in the iconic sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” has publicly mourned the loss of her cherished rescue dog, Ruby. The actress took to Instagram on Sunday to express her heartache, sharing a poignant tribute to the beloved pet who had been part of her life since 2014. This heartfelt post included a carousel of images showcasing Ruby alongside Cuoco’s partner, Tom Pelphrey, and their three-year-old daughter, Matilda.

In her Instagram message, Cuoco acknowledged the inevitability of such a loss but admitted that its emotional toll was nevertheless profound. “💫 Ruby 💫 I knew this day would eventually come but it doesn’t make it any easier,” she wrote, revealing that Ruby had been by her side through countless experiences. The actress fondly described her as “the sweetest little angel snowball”, highlighting the deep bond they shared over the years.

Cuoco’s journey with Ruby began after an impactful television segment at the East Valley animal shelter. It was during this visit that she met the small white dog, who Cuoco recalled was the animal she had been asked to hold. In addition to Ruby, Cuoco and Pelphrey are also parents to another rescue dog named Miss Opal. This pup was adopted from Deity Animal Rescue in February 2023, shortly after the arrival of their daughter Matilda. Cuoco has shared previously that Matilda and Opal have developed a wonderful relationship, with the little girl expressing great excitement whenever Opal approaches for cuddles.

This recent loss is not Cuoco’s first. In 2021, she faced the painful passing of her cherished dog, Norman, with whom she shared 14 years. Cuoco fondly remembered Norman in a heartfelt post, expressing gratitude for their time together and affirming the special bond they shared. The loss was significant enough that she named her production company, Norman Productions, in his honour, underscoring the importance pets hold in our lives.

Cuoco has spoken openly about how Norman, who was a pit bull mix she adopted with a broken leg, transformed her life and provided unwavering companionship. In a 2017 interview with the Los Angeles Times, she recalled recognising he was the right fit for her from the moment they met. “I wanted this dog to be in my life,” she recounted, emphasising the special connection they had.
