**Broadway Revival of ‘Proof’ Sees Support from Michelle Williams as Thomas Kail Takes the Helm**

The acclaimed 2000 play ‘Proof’ has made its return to Broadway, under the direction and production of Thomas Kail, best known for his work on ‘Hamilton’. At the opening night held at the Booth Theatre, Kail received heartfelt support from his wife, actress Michelle Williams. The couple walked the red carpet together, showcasing a united front on 16 April.

Michelle Williams, radiant in a striking red tunic paired with black trousers and heels, attended the event alongside Kail, who opted for a more understated look in a classic black suit and tie. The couple, who have been married since 2020, share three children, including their son, Hart Kail. Notably, Kail serves as a stepfather to Williams’ daughter, Matilda Ledger, the child she welcomed with the late actor Heath Ledger.

The revival of ‘Proof’ features a talented cast, with Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle taking on the leading roles. Edebiri plays Catherine, the daughter of a celebrated mathematics professor played by Cheadle. The plot unfolds after the death of the father, where Catherine grapples with the emotional upheaval of discovering a notebook containing a potentially groundbreaking mathematical proof. Jin Ha and Kara Young also contribute to the cast, with Young stepping into her role just weeks before the opening after Samira Wiley had to withdraw due to health issues. As producer of the revival, Kail collaborates with Tony Award-nominated producer Mike Bosner. The play has also garnered co-production from Higher Ground, the media company founded by former US President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama. In a statement, the Obamas expressed their pride in being part of the project, highlighting the play’s significant exploration of questions surrounding brilliance, doubt, and the legacies we inherit from our loved ones.
