Joe Jonas has shared his thoughts on the sentimental journey of concluding the Jonas Brothers’ 20th anniversary tour last year, expressing a blend of pride and bittersweet feelings. The band is prepared to resume touring with their “Greetings From Your Hometown” event, which is set to kick off in South America come May.

Speaking to PEOPLE while en route to the celebrated Coachella festival, Jonas reflected on the past year, admitting he has largely been in “dad mode” since wrapping up their North American leg of the tour in December. He noted that the tour had involved an impressive 74 performances across various cities, culminating in a heartfelt finale at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Joe, 36, reminisced about the emotional experience of the final show. “That was a really special tour for us. Celebrating 20 years of the Brothers and our journey, I don’t take it for granted,” he remarked. This tour drew larger-than-expected audiences and unearthed deep appreciation from fans, which left a significant impression on the trio.
However, alongside the joy of performing, Joe also described the challenges of balancing his career with family responsibilities. He has two daughters, Willa, aged 5½, and Delphine, aged 3½, from his previous marriage to Sophie Turner. “When I’m touring, I can’t really just take three days, four days off to go fly to be with them,” he explained, acknowledging the emotional toll of being away from his children.
There is, nevertheless, a certain exhilaration about touring that Joe cherishes. Following a break to spend time with his family, the Jonas Brothers are set to return to the stage at the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino in Highland, California, on April 30. This will mark the beginning of their South American shows, with the group scheduled to perform two nights in Buenos Aires, followed by shows in Chile, before concluding their tour in Brazil.
Expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming tour, Joe noted, “It’s fun to be back on the road. I’ve been really in dad mode since January. While I’ve been writing, touring hasn’t been on my mind.” Now, he looks forward to engaging with fans in countries the band hasn’t visited for quite some time. “It’s overdue, and the fans are eager and patiently waiting… We’ve got a lot of surprises planned,” he hinted at what audiences can expect.
During his recent outing at Coachella, Joe made a cameo appearance during Teddy Swims’ set, showcasing his versatile talent. He also attended the prestigious Masters golf tournament before performing alongside Demi Lovato at the opening night of her tour, singing duets of “This Is Me” and “On the Line.”
It is clear that while the toll of touring can be challenging, the joy it brings to both the band and their dedicated fanbase remains a driving force for Joe and his brothers. As they prepare to embark on this next chapter of their musical journey, the Jonas Brothers are set to provide audiences with memorable performances filled with nostalgia and enthusiasm.
