Thall shared that despite the passage of time—33 years—he remains in contact with them and reflects fondly on their shared experiences during filming.

The two recently worked together on a new film, allowing Thall to contribute as editor. Beyond his connection with Dunham, Thall maintains a friendship with Robert Hays, who played his father in the film. He shared that they have cultivated a strong relationship, underscoring the bonds formed during production. Thall recalled further reunions with his on-screen siblings during milestone celebrations, including a recent gathering for the film’s 30th anniversary. He expressed excitement about their plans to commemorate “Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco,” which was released in 1996, remarking, “We had a 30th anniversary and she came and we’re supposed to get together again for the second movie anniversary.”

The actor also had heartwarming updates regarding Chevalia. Thall noted that the young boy who once passionately donned a train conductor outfit on set has maintained that love for trains and now works as a train conductor himself. “How wonderful,” Thall exclaimed, revealing that Chevalia even made arrangements to travel by train for the anniversary celebration.
