The eagerly anticipated comedy series ‘Everyone Is Doing Great,’ created by the dynamic duo behind ‘One Tree Hill,’ James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, is set to make its global debut on Netflix on May 11, 2026. Viewers can look forward to binge-watching the first two seasons of this engaging show, with the second season making its first appearance on the streaming platform.

Netflix secured the worldwide rights to ‘Everyone Is Doing Great’ through a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television. This acquisition is part of a broader Global Pay-1 deal that grants the streamer access to selected feature films and television titles from Sony Pictures Entertainment.

‘Everyone Is Doing Great’ is crafted as a coming-of-age comedy that revolves around the lives of former co-stars, friends, and lovers Seth (played by Colletti), Jeremy (portrayed by Lafferty), Andrea (Alexandra Park), and Izzy (Cariba Heine). The series depicts their efforts to reconnect as they navigate the complexities of adulthood amid a chaotic and uncertain world.
The show has already garnered accolades, with its pilot winning Best Writers for Comedy at SeriesFest, as well as Best TV Episodic at the Mammoth Film Festival. Paul Littmann, Executive Vice President of Global Distribution at Sony Pictures Television, expressed enthusiasm for the series’ arrival on Netflix. He praised the creators’ ability to capture the essence of compelling indie television, calling it “raw, authentic, hilarious, and full of heart.”
In its first season, the narrative centres around Seth and Jeremy, who found fleeting fame as stars of a once-popular vampire television drama called ‘Eternal.’ Set five years after the show’s cancellation, the duo finds themselves struggling to reclaim their past success and relevance while facing the awkward challenges of life and love, all intertwined with humorous undertones.
The series not only features Lafferty and Colletti as the leads but also sees them taking on executive production roles. The second season will see additional contributions from executive producers Ian Nelms, Eshom Nelms, Michelle Lang, Johnny Derango, Ngoc Nguyen, Stuart Lafferty, Rocque Trem, and Garrett Greer.
Season two promises to introduce a host of guest stars, including Jamie Chung, Phoenix Washington, Bryan Greenberg, Jessica McNamee, Robbie Jones, Merritt Patterson, Aaron Staton, Nichelle Hines, and Rhys Wakefield, further enriching the storyline.
Reflecting on their creative journey, Lafferty and Colletti acknowledged the risks associated with producing an independent television series. “Setting out on this journey was risky for us because there are a lot of things and chances we’re taking with these characters,” Lafferty noted, recognising the significant challenges involved.
Both Lafferty and Colletti revealed that their experiences greatly informed their writing. In their words, while the characters are ultimately fictional, they resonate with their personal realities. Lafferty remarked, “I think Jeremy speaks to that part of myself coming out of One Tree Hill who recognised pretty quickly that it was going to be harder than I thought it would be.”
Colletti added a candid perspective on the process, acknowledging the challenges of transitioning from the comfort of a successful show to the uncertainties of launching a new series. He shared that while he was aware of the intensive work required, the reality of auditioning had come as a surprise.
As anticipation builds for the arrival of ‘Everyone Is Doing Great’ on Netflix, fans of the creators and newcomers alike are eager to see how this exploration of friendship, personal growth, and the absurdities of life unfolds. With its unique storytelling and relatable characters, the series aims to strike a chord with audiences around the globe.
As the launch date approaches, it remains to be seen how the reception to the series will evolve, but it is undoubtedly positioned as one of the most noteworthy additions to Netflix’s growing portfolio of original content.
