Former “Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans has revealed that she is prioritising co-parenting with her ex-husband David Eason while navigating the complexities of family life. The 34-year-old mother of three has shared her commitment to creating a supportive environment for her children, especially after recent events concerning her eldest son, Jace.

Evans and Eason share a daughter, Ensley, aged nine. She is also the mother to 16-year-old Jace and 11-year-old Kaiser, from previous relationships. In a candid conversation on the La Femme Talk podcast, hosted by Dr. Rachel Mason, Evans discussed her evolving relationship with Eason, emphasising their focus on raising their children amicably rather than rekindling any romantic ties.
“I think right now I’m just focusing on co-parenting with all my exes and just trying to make things as civil as possible,” she noted during the podcast. Evans expressed her belief that fostering a positive co-parenting dynamic is crucial, particularly as it sets a healthy example for her children. “If that means my daughter seeing us getting along together, going out to have lunch or dinners, then that’s fine with me,” she added.
Reflecting on her past, Evans acknowledged the toxicity that had previously impacted her family life. “For my kids to now see a new turned leaf, it’s just…it’s happy,” she said, reiterating her commitment to moving forward positively.
In light of speculation about a potential romantic reconnection with Eason, Evans took to social media earlier this month to dispel the rumours. Following reports and photographs of the pair spending time together in Las Vegas, she clarified, “Just because I am co-parenting, doesn’t mean I’m in trouble in any way. Sorry to burst your bubble everyone.” This statement reinforces her intention to maintain a platonic relationship focused solely on their daughter.
Evans further addressed the ongoing custody issues surrounding her son Jace, who has been receiving treatment in a mental health facility after a distressing incident in which he allegedly brandished a firearm towards his grandmother. “I’ve been actually getting help for my son as needed, and he’s in a safe place with a holistic approach,” she explained. She expressed hope that Jace is currently in a good place and focused on his well-being.
Despite the quiet period in her social media presence, Evans reassured fans that her lack of updates does not equate to inactivity regarding her son’s welfare. “Just know that if I’m quiet, I’m up to something,” she remarked, underscoring her dedication to supporting Jace through this difficult time.
The situation surrounding Jace escalated recently, leading Evans’ mother, Barbara, to file an emergency child custody motion and an ex parte order, aimed at modifying Jace’s custody arrangements. These measures were taken shortly after the news of Jace’s admission to the mental health facility became public.
In the podcast, Evans stated that her paramount concern is creating a nurturing atmosphere for all her children, allowing them to experience positive family interactions and forge new memories. As she navigates these parenting challenges and her relationship with Eason, Evans remains vocal about the importance of prioritising her children’s needs.
By prioritising co-parenting and seeking assistance for her son, Evans aims to demonstrate a commitment to healing and improvement for her family. Her candid discussions about her past and current struggles reflect a desire to break the cycle of toxicity for the sake of her children. As the family continues to navigate these obstacles, Evans maintains that a focus on health and stability is the most important goal.
