Viral Ring Cam Video Shows Alleged Home Intruder’s Terrifying Demand: ‘Where Is Your Daughter?’

A man in California has been charged after allegedly forcing entry into a family’s home and confronting the homeowner about his daughter. Jason Nichols, 30, is accused of committing the act on April 7 in Fairfield, where he reportedly broke into the house through a sliding glass door after failing to gain access via the front entrance.

Security footage from the incident shows Nichols, dressed in a trench coat and flip-flops, aggressively threatening the homeowner while demanding to know the whereabouts of his daughter. His language escalated to violence as he shouted, “Open the f***ing door or I will f***ing kill you!” During the confrontation, he also claimed to belong to the neighbourhood and identified himself as “Harry Dresden,” a character from *The Dresden Files* fantasy series.

Nichols was recorded pacing menacingly by the front porch, attempting to kick in the door and ripping down fixtures, including a doorbell, which he threw at the house. When those methods failed, he gained entry via the sliding glass door. At the time, the homeowner’s wife and child were inside the property.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, officers were alerted to the situation shortly after it began. The homeowner was reportedly away during the initial confrontation but monitored events via a security camera and returned home armed with a shovel.

Inside the house, Nichols was heard shouting aggressively, demanding to know, “Where the f*** is she?” and making violent insinuations toward another individual. The confrontation escalated into a physical struggle, during which both Nichols and the homeowner sustained head injuries, according to police reports.

Efforts to de-escalate the situation were made by the homeowner, who asked Nichols if he was military and urged him to step outside to talk. Officers arrived shortly thereafter, finding Nichols outside the residence, where he was taken into custody without further conflict.

Upon his arrest, Nichols claimed to responding officers that “there’s a little girl trapped in this house.” He was subsequently taken to NorthBay Medical Center for treatment before being booked into Solano County Jail.

Jail records indicate that Nichols was initially held on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, first-degree burglary, and vandalism. His bail was initially set at £35,000. However, a later charge of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18 was added, which brought his total bail to £60,000. This additional charge is related to an alleged incident that took place on April 5, involving a different child.

A spokesperson for the Fairfield Police Department confirmed that the case is still under investigation, and further information will be limited due to the sensitive nature of the allegations and the involvement of minors.

Nichols is scheduled to appear in court on April 13 and April 14. The nature of the incidents presents a severe concern for the community, and local authorities are working diligently to ensure the safety of families in the area.
