A man has been charged with killing his girlfriend nearly three months after she was found dead on the side of Interstate 95 in Florida. The body of 21-year-old Nahomi Cittadini was discovered by Florida Highway Patrol troopers on the morning of December 7 on a ramp near Ives Dairy Road in Miami-Dade County, as reported by Local 10. Reports indicated that on that day, police had responded to multiple calls about a couple arguing alongside the highway shortly after 6 a.m., according to WSVN.

Detective Luis Sierra of the Miami-Dade Police Department stated to WSVN that numerous concerned individuals had contacted authorities while driving past the scene of the altercation. He mentioned, “Multiple people were actually calling as they were driving by, saying that people were arguing on the side of the road. A short time after, FHP arrives and finds a body of a deceased female on the side of the road.” Sierra further added that when Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived, they found the young woman deceased with her clothing removed. He noted, “At this point, the female is undressed. There is a piece of clothing next to her, so I wouldn’t be able to tell you how exactly her clothes were removed, but there is some clothing next to her body.”
The woman’s boyfriend, Lorent Junior Pion, 29, was quickly identified as a person of interest in her death and was apprehended shortly after her body was discovered. Although he initially faced charges related to fleeing from the police, he has now been charged with the murder of Cittadini. According to CBS News, at the time of the incident, Pion allegedly claimed that his girlfriend had been struck by a vehicle after jumping out of his car during an argument. However, his arrest warrant contradicts this account, revealing that a witness observed Pion assaulting Cittadini and pulling her toward the interstate.
The witness reportedly stated that the woman attempted to crawl back to safety, but Pion allegedly dragged her back into the path of oncoming traffic, resulting in her being struck by a sedan. An assistant medical examiner who examined the scene determined that Cittadini’s injuries were consistent with being hit by a vehicle. The warrant also noted the presence of blood both inside and outside of Pion’s vehicle. Additionally, it was disclosed that Cittadini had previously obtained a protective order against Pion following a previous incident of physical violence in Miami Beach in August.
Cittadini’s mother expressed her desire for Pion to face the consequences of his alleged actions, stating, “I know that’s not going to bring my daughter back, but at least she’ll rest easier. He has to pay.” Lorent Pion has now been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Nahomi Cittadini’s tragic death.
