Jenn Todryk, the talented interior designer and former host of HGTV’s “No Demo Reno,” has recently shared significant updates regarding her health, particularly her ongoing battle with Hashimoto’s disease and hyperthyroidism. She took to her Instagram Stories on 7 April to provide insights into her health situation, which has been a prominent part of her life since her diagnosis.

Todryk first encountered health challenges in 2014 when she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Three years later, in 2017, she received a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid gland. This condition can lead to a variety of symptoms, including fatigue, sensitivity to cold, and muscle stiffness. The autoimmune aspect of the disease means that the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid, causing it to function improperly.
In her recent posts, Todryk reported alarming results from a blood test conducted in October 2025, where her antibody count showed a staggering figure of 5,000. Explaining the significance of this number, she noted that the standard measurement for someone with Hashimoto’s should ideally be zero. This considerable level of antibodies indicates a severe case of the disease. “So, not to brag,” she quipped, “but I have a very chronic case of Hashimoto’s,” acknowledging the challenges she faces on her path to recovery.

Since her diagnosis, Todryk has made numerous adjustments to her health regimen. At the time of her blood test, she was managing her condition by taking around 20 different supplements aimed at improving her health and reducing inflammation. As the festive season approached, she observed changes in her health that suggested she might be swinging towards hyperthyroidism, which can occur with Hashimoto’s. Consequently, she decided to streamline her supplement intake to just two items: a hormone pill she has relied on for several years and a drinkable hormone supplement she co-developed called Glow by Beam, which she claims has made a significant difference in her well-being.
Encouragingly, her latest antibody test showed a marked improvement; her antibody count had dropped from 5,000 to 257, an encouraging sign of progress in managing her condition. This reduction highlights that her adjustments to her supplement routine may be bearing fruit, allowing her to better contend with the challenges associated with Hashimoto’s.
In addition to her health updates, Todryk has reflected on her decision to leave “No Demo Reno” in 2023. The show, which ran from 2021 to 2023, had become a substantial commitment, taking her away from family. In her Instagram reflections, she expressed gratitude for having made the decision at the right time, prioritising her children’s upbringing over the demands of television. “I didn’t want my kids to spend their childhood on a ‘set’,” she stated, emphasising her desire for their home and safe space to remain untouched by the industry.
Despite stepping back from the spotlight, Todryk has left the door ajar for a potential return to television. She has spoken of her strong relationship with HGTV, stating, “I know that the door is open, so whenever I want to make content, I can.” While she is currently focused on her family and managing her health, she remains appreciative of her past collaboration with HGTV and is open to the possibilities that lie ahead.
At 37 years of age, Todryk continues to navigate her health challenges while managing the demands of parenthood. She is the mother of three children—sons Von and Berkley, and daughter Vivienne—whom she shares with her husband, Mike Todryk. In her candid updates, she has demonstrated resilience and a willingness to share her journey with others who may be grappling with similar issues.
Her story serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between pursuing a passion and caring for one’s health and family. As she reflects on her experiences, it becomes clear that Todryk’s journey is about more than just overcoming health hurdles; it’s also about embracing life’s complexities and remaining grateful for the opportunities that come her way.
