They even travelled to Rome for a biopsy of Olivia’s brain tumour with the hope of securing her entry into another clinical trial. Unfortunately, Olivia did not qualify for the trial, leaving her family feeling as though they had exhausted every possibility. Kelly reflected on their journey, stating, “I don’t think we could have lived with ‘what ifs’—wondering if things would have been different had we gone down a different avenue. That makes what’s coming a tiny bit easier.”
In their tribute to Olivia, her family celebrated her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. “Olivia, you were pure sunshine,” they wrote. In just six short years, she profoundly impacted many lives. They described her laughter as “truly golden,” and her strength, despite her illness, as a testament to her character.
