Maya’s journey has been fraught with challenges, and just recently, she spent 16 days in a hospital in Texas. Selfridge took to social media on April 10 to announce the good news that her daughter is on the path to recovery and will soon return home. Maya was initially transported to the hospital via a “life-flight” from Amarillo, Texas, indicating the seriousness of her condition during this latest hospital stay.
While sharing the encouraging news, Selfridge included images of Maya leaving the hospital, with a notable mention of their stop at the Rainforest Cafe, a family-friendly restaurant chain. Addressing her followers, she noted that although they are scheduled to return to California the following day, they are still in Texas at present.
Selfridge elaborated further on the situation, remarking, “We got life-flighted out of Amarillo so that’s part of the long story.” She also conveyed that once they have settled back at home, she plans to provide a full account of her daughter’s recent medical episode, describing it as a “nightmare.”
Maya’s medical journey has been complex, with Selfridge clarifying that the situation was more severe than many people may have assumed. “A lot of people are saying, ‘Oh, she got sick.’ That’s not even it. That’s not even what happened,” she explained. This insight suggests that there were additional complications and challenges surrounding Maya’s health that have not been fully disclosed.
