Anderson .Paak, the celebrated musician renowned for his group Silk Sonic, has shared insights into his unique journey in creating the film ‘K-Pops!’. This project not only showcases his artistic talents but also strengthens the bond with his teenage son, Soul Rasheed, who stars alongside him in the film. Premiering on February 24, 2026, in Los Angeles, ‘K-Pops!’ blends elements of Black and Korean cultures, lending a personal significance to the narrative.

During a recent appearance on *The Jennifer Hudson Show*, the 40-year-old artist elaborated on the premise of ‘K-Pops!’. He portrays BJ, a washed-up musician who discovers his son, played by Soul, possesses the potential to become a K-Pop sensation. Reflecting on the filming process, Paak revealed that the journey spanned nearly five years, beginning during the COVID-19 pandemic when he recognised Soul’s innate talent. At that time, Soul was only 11 years old, and now, at 15, he steps into a central role in the film.

Paak expressed his pride in the film’s ability to connect diverse cultures, particularly highlighting the significance of bridging Black and Korean experiences. They began producing skits together, and Paak was pleasantly surprised by Soul’s comedic abilities. “I realised how naturally talented he was, how funny he was,” he shared, revealing his eagerness to collaborate on more projects.

This nostalgic experience reminded him of his childhood, during which he would make films with his family. “I was like, ‘Son!
