Disneyland Paris has recently unveiled an ambitious $2.2 billion redevelopment of its second theme park, now titled Disney Adventure World. This grand transformation marks the most significant change to the park since its inception 34 years ago, with over 90% of the area redesigned to enhance visitor experiences.

On March 29, the resort showcased its new offerings to the public, greatly shifting the park’s focus from behind-the-scenes storytelling to fully immersive experiences. Nataha Raffalski, president of Disneyland Paris, articulated this evolution, emphasising that visitors now seek opportunities to engage with beloved stories rather than merely observe their creation.
Central to the revamped park is the World of Frozen, an expansive and vivid recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle. This new area boasts an impressive 118-foot ice mountain that serves as a prominent visual feature against the backdrop of the French countryside. Guests can embark on the Frozen Ever After boat ride, which utilises over 30 cutting-edge Audio-Animatronic figures to bring the enchanting world of Frozen to life.
Adventure Way, a lively promenade, leads guests through beautifully landscaped gardens, a variety of dining options, and vibrant entertainment. Among the attractions planned is Raiponce Tangled Spin, themed around Disney’s animated film Tangled. This promenade culminates in Adventure Bay, where a central lake hosts a spectacular nighttime show titled “Disney Cascade of Lights.” The show incorporates hundreds of drones, choreographed fountains, and pyrotechnics, promising an unforgettable experience after dark.
Visitors have been quick to share their enthusiasm for the new developments. Léa Moreau, a graphic designer from Lille, expressed how the surroundings transport guests into the heart of Arendelle, while Munich architect Daniel Weber praised the stunning attention to detail found throughout the boat ride experience.
In addition to the World of Frozen, the redevelopment is expected to expand further. Plans are in place to introduce Disney’s first themed area dedicated to The Lion King, with construction starting in late 2025. This area will include a major attraction that combines water-based thrills with advanced animatronics, capturing the essence of the beloved franchise.
The scale of the redesign is substantial; once completed, the park’s footprint will double, enhancing its appeal to new and returning visitors alike. The emphasis on immersive experiences combined with cutting-edge technology aims to cement Disneyland Paris’s reputation as a leading destination for family entertainment in Europe.
