A young man has entered a guilty plea for the fatal hitting of a father of two, an incident confirmed in October last year. Ismaeel Malik, 22, struck Norman Case, 58, with his vehicle in Kelvedon, Essex, while reportedly distracted by TikTok videos. Malik is scheduled to be sentenced on 29 April 2024.

According to Essex Police, the tragic event took place on 22 October 2024 at around 9:30 a.m. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the collision; however, Case was pronounced dead on arrival. On that fateful morning, Case had just dropped off his two children, Fraser and Kate, at their school, blissfully unaware that it would be the last time they would see their father. She stated, “After dropping Fraser and Kate at the school bus stop, they would never have imagined not seeing their father alive again… Mr. Malik caused Norman’s death, and all our lives will never be the same again.”

Following the accident, Malik was arrested and suspected of causing death by dangerous driving. After admitting guilt in court on 28 March, he awaits formal sentencing.
