A 44-year-old man from Oakhurst, California, is facing serious allegations involving the unwarranted recording of guests at his luxury vacation rental. Christian Edwards was arrested on 19 March following an investigation prompted by information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), concerning potential child sexual abuse material at the property.
According to a statement from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), detectives discovered that Edwards had been recording guests during private moments without their consent. The investigation revealed over 4,000 images of child sexual abuse material within his electronic devices, further compounding the gravity of the allegations against him.
Edwards operated the rental home, situated in proximity to Yosemite, as a short-term accommodation facility. He began renting the property to guests in early 2023.
