In a recent incident that has captured public attention, football star Jorginho has publicly accused pop sensation Chappell Roan of sending a security guard to confront his daughter during a breakfast outing in São Paulo. The incident, which took place on March 21, has sparked significant discussions about fan interactions and celebrity boundaries.

Jorginho, a 34-year-old athlete known for his impressive career on the pitch, claimed in an Instagram post that his 11-year-old daughter, Ada Law, was unfairly treated by Roan’s security team. He stated that his daughter, excited at the prospect of seeing the musician, merely glanced at Roan’s table without making any overtures, yet was subsequently approached by a security guard who allegedly accused her of harassment.

In response to Jorginho’s allegations, a representative for Chappell Roan, 28, issued a statement to the Daily Mail, expressing that Roan holds “zero tolerance” for any aggressive behaviour directed towards her fans. The spokesperson clarified that Roan was unaware of any interaction involving the young girl and stated that she did not instruct her security to approach Jorginho’s family.
“The security guard in question was not part of Chappell’s personal team,” the spokesperson explained. “Chappell did not see them at breakfast and did not engage with them in any way. She holds her team to the highest standards and expects the same decorum to be maintained.”
In a bid to present her side of the story, Roan took to her Instagram Stories the following day, asserting her innocence regarding the incident. She expressed that she had not noticed the young girl and her mother at breakfast, further emphasising that she did not ask her security to intervene. Roan remarked that the assumption made by the security personnel was unfair, as there were no actions warranting such a response.
The musician expressed her regret over the misunderstanding and apologised if the situation made Jorginho’s daughter feel uncomfortable. “I do not hate people who are fans of my music,” Roan reiterated in her Stories, clarifying her stance on the matter. “It makes me really sad that someone assumed something that you would do or feel.”
In his initial post, Jorginho described how his daughter had crafted a sign in eager anticipation of meeting someone she admired. He recounted how she merely walked past Roan’s table and smiled in recognition before returning to her seat. The father expressed dismay over the security guard’s intervention, which he claimed left his daughter in tears.
Jorginho described the encounter as “extremely aggressive”, alleging that the guard threatened to file a complaint with the hotel against his family. He lamented the treatment his daughter received, suggesting that those in the music industry should appreciate the role of fans in their success.
Concluding his post, Jorginho expressed a hope that Roan would take this incident as a moment of reflection. He underscored the significant importance of fans in supporting artists, stating, “Without your fans, you would be nothing.”
Chappell Roan, who recently performed at Lollapalooza Brazil, has been vocal about maintaining personal boundaries between herself and her admirers. She has previously highlighted issues concerning paparazzi and fans overstepping their limits, indicating the challenges that come with fame.
While the incident has certainly drawn significant public interest, representatives for both Roan and the hosting venue, Palácio Tangará, did not respond to specific requests for comment from media outlets as the story developed.
As discussions surrounding celebrity interactions continue to evolve, particularly in today’s age of heightened social media scrutiny, this episode highlights the delicate balance between public interest and personal space, especially where young fans are concerned.
