A harrowing incident occurred in Los Angeles recently, as two teenage girls escaped a suspected kidnapping thanks to their courage and quick thinking. The girls, aged 12 and 16, were walking together in the North Hills neighbourhood when they encountered a man who repeatedly attempted to convince them to accept a ride in his vehicle.

According to reports, the incident took place on a Sunday evening at approximately 5:20 p.m. near North Hills Park, situated at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and Acre Street. The suspect, who remains at large, reportedly approached the girls while they were walking, making offers for them to join him in his car.
Despite initially declining his offers, the girls agreed to enter the vehicle after the man approached them for a third time, closer to Nordhoff Street and Columbus Avenue. Once the girls were inside, it is believed that the suspect locked the doors and drove away from the area without following the destination they had provided him.
Detective Efren Gutierrez disclosed details to ABC7, indicating that the suspect drove them to a cul-de-sac near Sunburst Street and Lemona Avenue. Once there, he allegedly locked the doors again, proceeded to offer the girls money, alcohol, and drugs, and made inappropriate sexual advances while asking for favours in return. This alarming behaviour intensified before the girls made their escape.
In a display of remarkable bravery, the girls managed to exit the vehicle under dangerous circumstances. One girl managed to jump out while the car was stopped, while her companion bravely leapt from the moving vehicle. Remarkably, neither girl sustained any physical injuries during their escape.
Authorities have described the suspect as a 21-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 200 pounds in weight, with black hair and brown eyes. He is also reported to have tattoos on both of his arms. The man was last seen driving an older model four-door sedan, the details of which, including the license plate, remain unknown.
The incident has raised alarm in the local community and prompted authorities to launch a thorough investigation. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently seeking any information from the public that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect.
