Paulina Porizkova, the renowned model and author, recently shared a candid video on Instagram, celebrating the beauty of ageing while highlighting her own experience as a 60-year-old woman. On Thursday, 12 March, Porizkova posted a clip where she confidently donned light pink lingerie, coupled with a vibrant silk robe, encouraging her audience to embrace their bodies at any age.

In the video, Porizkova posed playfully, before addressing a frequently asked question from fans: How does she look so fabulous at 60? With her typical wit, she attributed the appearance to “just good light and posing.” As the model showcased her physique, she remarked, “The reality is this. I am 60 years old. This is what it looks like,” while gently pointing out various aspects of her body, including lines and contours that come with age.
The model candidly opened up about her own body changes over the years, revealing that she has gained around 15 pounds. “This tummy is not going anywhere,” she confessed, proudly stating that it carried two children. Porizkova underscored the importance of self-acceptance, regardless of societal pressures or expectations. “It doesn’t matter how many Pilates lessons I take or how much weight I put on, I love it either way,” she declared.

Highlighting her self-acceptance, Porizkova expressed that while “the skin is just the skin,” she feels more comfortable and confident in her own body now than ever before. This message resonated deeply with her followers, many of whom appreciated her honesty about ageing and body image.
In the caption accompanying the video, Porizkova reiterated her point about the challenges of ageing. She commented on the realities of gravity and how it affects the body over time, suggesting that these changes can also contribute to inner strength and self-assurance. “Truth is, gravity takes its toll, but it can also build your strength so you can hold your head higher than ever,” she noted.
The model also reflected on the lingerie she was wearing, which she had purchased some seven years ago for a partner who, she felt, was more interested in youth than in her actual self. Porizkova mused that fitting into the lingerie now brings her joy for different reasons. She mentioned her fiancé, writer Jeff Greenstein, stating that just wearing the set and witnessing his reaction made her feel sexy and at home in her skin.
This is not the first instance where Porizkova has taken to social media to promote body positivity and self-love. Last November, she posted a “get ready with me” video that showcased her getting dressed while wearing four-year-old underwear. During this video, she spoke about her body, including visible scars from bilateral hip replacement surgery, emphasising how these “imperfections” serve to uniquely define individuals and make them special.
In her reflective approach, Porizkova encouraged her fans to embrace their imperfections. “If you’re like me, you will also zero in on the shape of my body — and hopefully think with relief, ‘ah, she’s not perfect either,’” she wrote. She suggested that such shared experiences might help others to be kinder to themselves, ultimately embracing their unique bodies.
Porizkova’s willingness to display vulnerability and authenticity continues to resonate with many, serving as a reminder that beauty exists in all its forms, particularly as one embraces the passage of time. Her messages not only empower women to accept themselves as they are but also encourage a shift in perspective regarding age and beauty standards.
