In an exclusive interview with *PEOPLE*, Mason Horacek from the reality TV show *Love Is Blind* opened up about his regrets and lessons learned from his experience on the show. Mason expressed his wish to have addressed red flags earlier in his relationship with fellow contestant Madison Errichiello.

The couple, who had formed a connection early on in the pods, faced challenges when Madison eventually ended things with Mason due to a stronger bond with another participant, Alex Brown. However, the real turmoil surfaced when Madison discovered that Mason had been sharing similar sentiments with another contestant, Meg Fink. This revelation led to a rift between Madison and Alex, ultimately leading to the end of Mason and Madison’s relationship.

Reflecting on the experience, Mason acknowledged that he should have paid attention to the red flags he noticed while dating Madison. He admitted to ignoring those signs and getting caught up in his emotions, leading to what he described as a “catastrophe” in their relationship.
Mason shared that his tendency to overlook red flags was a pattern in his past relationships, often causing unnecessary drama. He had hoped to break this cycle on *Love Is Blind*, but found himself reverting to old habits. Despite the disappointment of making the same mistakes on a public platform, Mason acknowledged the valuable lesson learnt from the experience.
One highlight for Mason during the challenging times was the unwavering support he received from Alex. Mason expressed deep gratitude for Alex’s loyalty and defence of him during moments of tension. Witnessing Alex’s commitment to standing by him strengthened their bond, leaving Mason with profound respect for his fellow contestant.
Following their breakup on the show, Mason and Madison did not maintain contact. Mason explained that after the breakup, he recognised certain traits in Madison that made him wary of continuing any communication. Despite an awkward encounter at a cast gathering later on, Mason maintained his distance from Madison.
Despite the ups and downs of his journey on *Love Is Blind*, Mason emphasised the strong friendships formed among the cast members. He highlighted the camaraderie within the group, indicating a sense of community that persisted beyond the show’s filming.
Mason’s story serves as a reminder of the complexities of navigating relationships, especially under the public eye. His candid reflections on his mistakes and growth offer a glimpse into the personal struggles faced by individuals in pursuit of love and connection.
