Man Poured Coffee on His Wife’s Head, Then Was Allegedly Strangled to Death by His Own Son

A 40-year-old man from New York is facing serious charges following the alleged murder of his father during a domestic dispute. Hans Knickerbocker has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 63-year-old Philip Knickerbocker, whose body was discovered in their family home in Russell, a community in upstate New York, near the Canadian border.

Law enforcement officials were alerted on the evening of February 25, when a 911 call was placed reporting that an individual was found deceased inside the residence. Upon arrival, the New York State Police discovered Philip Knickerbocker on a couch, unresponsive. Initial assessments led investigators to believe that he had been strangled.

According to a statement released by the New York State Police, the incident stemmed from an altercation between Philip and his wife, Jacqueline. It is alleged that during a heated argument regarding their marriage, Philip poured coffee over Jacqueline’s head and attempted to physically strike her.
