Lee Markham, a fitness influencer popularly known as Malibu Fit Maxx, has publicly admitted to fabricating a story about sustaining injuries from an improvised explosive device (IED) during his military service. In a recent Instagram video shared on February 27, he expressed regret for his actions, attributing them to the negative feedback he received regarding his appearance.

In the video, Markham addressed his followers directly to clarify the false narrative he had created about his time in the armed forces, during which he served from 2005 to 2010. “I wanted to talk to you directly about the claim that I made, taking an IED blast to the face,” he began, acknowledging his pride in having served his country.
