In an exciting reveal for fans of her media empire, Alex Cooper, host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” recently showcased the newly refurbished headquarters of her brand, Unwell. The office, located in Los Angeles, has undergone a transformation thanks to the collaboration with West Elm, which has recently launched its West Elm Office collection.

Cooper, 31, took viewers on a personalised tour of the expansive new workspace, featuring a contemporary design infused with elements from West Elm’s latest offerings. The tour was framed as a casual conversation, with Cooper humourously addressing her audience: “I know that you nosy little freaks have been waiting for an Unwell office tour. So, I’m going to show you where I work. Welcome to the Unwell offices.”

The tour commenced at what Cooper playfully referred to as the “grand foyer,” which she quickly corrected to “reception.” She highlighted the significance of West Elm’s contribution, stating, “Did I mention that this entire office was furnished by West Elm? Thanks, babe.” Viewers were treated to a visual of a neutral colour palette interspersed with vibrant accents, contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere.
As she moved through the space, Cooper mentioned the decorative elements, including fresh flowers and strategically placed faux plants. The latter, she noted, serves to maintain a balance in the office’s aesthetic. “This was a huge selling point on this office space for me,” she remarked, showcasing decorative sand around one of the plants.
The attention then shifted towards the “podcast wing,” which featured a wall adorned with posters of various shows produced by the Unwell Network. This area was also home to an intriguing surprise: “Big Al’s Bar.” Cooper characterized this Western-themed bar as an inviting space, quipping, “Every hour is happy hour,” while sitting atop the bar. The neon sign “Big Al’s” and cowboy-themed décor, including a cactus, completed the playful ambience.
In a light-hearted moment, she introduced a unique vending machine stocked with beverages from her brand’s Unwell Hydration line, exclaiming, “Want a beverage? Sucks you don’t work here,” as she embraced the machine.
The tour progressed to a pivotal location, the recording room, which Cooper referred to as the heart of her operation. “This is really where the magic happens,” she stated while seated in a vibrant green lounge chair. The room is where notable podcasts, including “Disgraceful,” “Extra Dirty,” and “Boyfriend Material,” are recorded when guests are in Los Angeles, emphasising the significance of this space in her media career.
Heading upstairs, Cooper granted a glimpse of private offices, including that of her husband, Matt Kaplan. Having wed in April 2024, the couple co-founded Unwell in June 2023. “This is where all the heads of the company work. And this is my husband’s office,” she said playfully blocking the camera as she added, “You’re not allowed in here. Just kidding.”
The tour concluded on the outdoor balcony, where Cooper had a special addition made for her husband: a putting green reflecting his passion for golf. In a humorous moment, she demonstrated her golfing skills but missed her attempts to sink the ball, laughably declaring, “Okay, we’re done.”
Finally, Cooper led viewers into her own office, showcasing floor-to-ceiling windows and wood-beamed ceilings that accentuated the room’s natural light. “This is where I brainstorm. I really love the natural light in this office,” she noted, wrapping up the tour with a grateful nod to West Elm: “Farewell, thanks West Elm! Get out.”
Describing the overall design of the Unwell headquarters, West Elm pointed out the deliberate use of contrast within the space. Their Hughes Collection merges sleek furniture with bolder, unexpected design elements. The company stated, “Warm woods and earthy textures keep the room grounded, while bold colour and art add energy.”
With the West Elm Office officially launched on January 27, new collections are now available, focusing on design, quality, and modularity. Pieces from the collection start at £199. For those interested in exploring the new offerings, they can visit the West Elm website.
Through this guided tour, Cooper not only highlighted the transformation of her workspace but also offered a glimpse into the dynamic world of her media enterprise, underscoring the blend of personal style and professional ambition in her career.
