Coca-Cola has announced the introduction of two innovative flavours to its Mr. Pibb soft drink line. This expansion includes Mr. Pibb Punchin’ Peach and Mr. Pibb Thrillin’ Vanilla, both of which are set to be available in various regions across the UK and beyond throughout 2026.

The new flavours are part of a revival for the Mr. Pibb brand, which has undergone a notable transformation. Originally, the drink was known as Pibb Xtra but has reverted to its nostalgic name. This rebranding was first revealed in October 2025, with Coca-Cola outlining plans for a national rollout in 2026.

Mr. Pibb is recognised for its spicy cherry taste, and the new Punchin’ Peach variant introduces a vibrant peach flavour that complements its classic cherry base. Meanwhile, Thrillin’ Vanilla offers a smoother taste experience by incorporating a rich vanilla element that enhances the drink’s original spicy cherry profile. Both flavours will be available in 12-ounce cans and 20-ounce bottles at select retailers across various markets, including the West, Midwest, and Florida regions.
Both Mr. Pibb and its zero-sugar counterpart have also seen an expansion in their distribution efforts. The drinks, celebrated for their intense cherry flavour with hints of caramel and a spicy finish, will now be available in more areas, covering the West, Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic. The products will come in a variety of packaging options, including 12-packs, 20-ounce bottles, 2-litre bottles, and mini cans.
The flavour introductions follow a significant change in the brand’s formulation and marketing strategy, which aims to attract both loyal fans and new consumers alike. The reformulated drink now boasts 30% more caffeine, designed to elevate the overall taste experience while staying true to its roots.
Mr. Pibb has a long-standing history dating back to the 1970s when it was first launched. The rebranding to Pibb Xtra occurred in 2001, a change that saw the drink’s identity evolve over time. However, this recent shift back to the original name has sparked renewed interest in the brand.
Coca-Cola’s announcement has generated excitement among soft drink enthusiasts who appreciate the nuanced flavours and unique profiles that Mr. Pibb offers. The combination of classic and new flavours aims to cater to a diverse palate, encouraging more consumers to try these variations.
As these drinks roll out, it will be interesting to observe how they perform in the competitive soft drink market, especially at a time when consumers are increasingly looking for unique flavour experiences. With both innovative and nostalgic elements, Mr. Pibb is poised to make a strong comeback.
