Brie Bird’s Mum Recalls Daughter’s Final Moments Before Her Passing

The mother of a young influencer, Brie Bird, fondly remembers the last moments with her daughter before the 9-year-old passed away from stage 4 cancer. Brie, who shared her cancer battle with over 1 million followers on Instagram, lost her life on December 11, after fighting recurring neuroblastoma cancer for five years. Kendra, Brie’s mum, penned an emotional Instagram post on December 18, reflecting on their conversations just a week before.
In the heartfelt post, Kendra recounted the everyday chats she had with Brie, reminiscing about their discussions on Christmas plans and cherished memories. Shortly after their last conversation, Brie drifted off to sleep, never to speak again. Kendra shared, “We both held you, as your body transitioned, whispering all the things we’ve told you for 9 years. ‘You’re amazing! You are so loved. You have changed the world.'”
Despite the grief of losing her daughter, Kendra vowed to honour Brie’s spirit by continuing to spread love and kindness. She expressed, “Our home will never feel the same. We will continue to dance in your honour, we will always serve those around us, and we will tell the world about the goodness of God.”
Brie’s cancer journey began in 2020 when doctors discovered a substantial tumour in her abdomen. After a period of being cancer-free, the neuroblastoma resurfaced in January 2024. The family decided to bring Brie home for hospice care in July, where she spent her final moments surrounded by loved ones.
Throughout her battle, Brie’s story caught the attention of the cast of “Wicked,” who surprised her with a special care package and a private screening of the movie-musical “Wicked: For Good.” Despite her declining health, she celebrated the international release of the “Wicked” sequel with her family from home in November.
The Bird family shared moments of joy amidst the challenges, marking special occasions together despite the circumstances. Brie’s legacy continues to touch many lives, inspiring others with her resilience and positivity.
