Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota recently claimed that her son was pulled over by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota over the weekend and was requested to provide proof of citizenship. Omar, known for her vocal criticism of President Donald Trump, shared during an interview with WCCO-TV that her son had encountered ICE agents after a visit to a Target store. She mentioned that her son was carrying his passport ID, which he always has with him, and was eventually released after showing it to the agents.
In response to Omar’s allegations, Todd Lyons, the acting director of ICE, released a statement declaring that there was no record of his officers pulling over the congresswoman’s son.
