Realising the severity of the situation, she hurried to the car with her husband Dustin, feeling the intensity of the contractions escalate rapidly.

The urgency of the moment struck them as they rushed to a nearby medical facility only to be turned away due to the absence of a maternity ward. With no time to spare, Pilar made the courageous decision to instruct Dustin to pull over as she knew the baby was on its way.

The couple found themselves in a serendipitous location – the parking lot of a Carl’s Jr. restaurant. Unable to reach the hospital in time, Pilar gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the car, weighing 6 lbs. 5 ounces. The proud mother later described the chaotic birth as a “crazy day” in a Facebook post, encapsulating the whirlwind of emotions she must have felt.

Assistance arrived swiftly as emergency responders, including “tall, incredibly good-looking firefighters,” came to their aid. Despite suggestions to name the baby Carl after the fast-food chain, the couple decided to stick with their original choice, David.
